A leading engineering group based in Sheffield is seeking a Technical Manager to support global operations and uphold high standards in materials, manufacturing, and compliance. The ideal candidate has a degree in metallurgy or relevant experience and offers a proactive mindset with a commitment to safety and quality. Responsibilities include supporting quality assurance, conducting audits, and advising sales teams.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Metallurgy or related discipline, or 5+ years' relevant experience.
  • Strong knowledge of steel and nickel mill suppliers, and local forge operations.
  • Familiarity with Aerospace Technical & Quality standards is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to internal and external technical queries.
  • Support Quality Assurance and Test Lab Managers with audits and investigations.
  • Lead root cause analysis for technical NCRs and drive corrective actions.
  • Conduct internal audits of QMS and ISO 17025 systems.
  • Review quarantine areas and maintain global mill supplier records.
  • Witness forging operations and direct heat treatment processes.
  • Prepare manufacturing plans aligned with sales orders.
  • Advise Sales and Purchasing teams on technical specifications and supplier capabilities.

Our client, a leading engineering group based in Sheffield is seeking a Technical Manager to support its global operations and uphold the highest standards in materials, manufacturing, and compliance. If you're a detail-driven professional with a passion for metallurgy and quality assurance, this role offers real scope to make an impact.

Interested candidates will ideally be degree qualified in metallurgy or a related discipline OR 5+ Years in a similar role.

You will be focal point in the business to support with all technical and metallurgical requirements within the group.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Responding to internal and external technical queries
  • Supporting Quality Assurance and Test Lab Managers with audits and investigations

What You'll Bring
