The Role

As Technical Manager, you will be responsible for leading the Technical, Quality Assurance, and Hygiene functions.

You’ll ensure full compliance with food safety legislation, BRCGS, HACCP, and retailer standards, while developing and mentoring a high-performing technical team.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Driving and maintaining the Food Safety Management System, HACCP, and quality management systems.
  • Leading internal and external audits, and liaising with regulatory bodies and retail customers to maintain top-level accreditations.
  • Managing site validations, risk assessments, traceability, pest control, hygiene operations, and due diligence requirements.
  • Overseeing customer complaints, non-conformances, and audit findings with effective corrective actions.
  • Championing and embedding a strong food safety and quality culture across all operations.
  • Reporting technical and quality KPIs to senior management, with clear insights and improvement recommendations.
Skills & Experience
  • Food manufacturing background is essential – with strong knowledge of BRCGS, HACCP, and retailer standards.
  • Proven experience managing large technical, quality, and hygiene teams.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, mentor, and inspire cross-functional teams.
