More about your role Please note: You will be required to be based out of our Leeds office one day per week with the remaining time working from home with additional site visits as required, and visits to other regional offices in Derby or Birmingham. This role will cover our Central Midland patch which will have a key focus on our current developments in Kettering, Birmingham and Burton on Trent.
Due to expected travel a full clean UK driving license will be essential. As a Technical Manager, you will be a key part of our regional Technical Team in the Central and North region, reporting directly to the Senior Technical Manager. You'll take ownership of coordinating design information and overseeing the performance of external consultants, ensuring the accuracy and quality of strategies and specifications across our developments.
Your role will include managing the approval process for Building Control, Warranties, and planning conditions, as well as handling road and sewer adoptions, utility connections, and easements. You'll be involved in multiple live schemes simultaneously, with full project input from preconstruction through to final handover. You'll play an active, collaborative role across our Commercial, Build, and Sales teams, maintaining ongoing communication and preparing detailed information packs to support the successful delivery of each project.
A strong understanding of the latest regulatory standards is essential, alongside commercial awareness in consultant appointments, scope writing, budget setting, and invoice processing. For more information, please download our job profile available on our website.
To be eligible for interview, you must meet the essential criteria:
We're keen to hear from experienced Technical Managers or Design Managers who have worked on multi-tenure residential developments (affordable rent, PRS, market sale), ideally with exposure to complex or large-scale construction projects.
You’ll bring knowledge of various build methods, building regulations, technical standards, and CDM compliance. Familiarity with the planning process and related procedures would be an added advantage.
