Supersede Recruitment represents a leading UK-based food manufacturer in the South Shields area, seeking a Technical Manager to oversee quality, compliance, and innovation in a factory-focused environment. The role drives standards and customer expectations.

You will lead a team of 7 QAs and a QA Administrator, manage audits, ensure retailer requirements, and collaborate with cross-functional teams on improvements and food safety objectives.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a technical or quality management role within the food industry.
• Proven management skills - this role will lead a team of 7 QAs and a QA Administrator.
• Strong knowledge of compliance standards and retailer requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and relationship-building skills.
• A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, with a focus on continuous improvement.
• A good level certification in food safety.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with quality standards, certifications, and retailer requirements.
• Oversee product quality - driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers, ensuring their technical and quality expectations are exceeded.
• Lead internal and external audits, ensuring full compliance with food safety, environmental, traceability, and health & safety standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product quality and address technical challenges.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices, bringing innovative ideas to the business.
