Job summary

A leading chemical manufacturer in Lancashire is seeking a Technical Manager to oversee the technical team and ensure quality checks on incoming raw materials. The role involves liaising with customers to develop products according to specifications and staying updated on industry technologies. Ideal candidates will have a BSc in Chemistry and experience in organic chemistry. This is a full-time, permanent position.

• Educated to a BSc or higher in Chemistry or another relevant field.
• Previous experience in organic chemistry and working with composites.
• Demonstrable experience in people leadership.
• Strong technical ability and understanding of complex data.

Overview

Technical Manager — Location: Lancashire — Full Time | Permanent

Responsibilities

• The role's primary focus will be on overseeing the site technical team as they perform quality checks on incoming raw materials and optimise formulations for new and existing products.
• You will also be expected to liaise with customers to develop and adjust products to their given specifications, as well as keep up to date with the relevant, new industry technologies as they appear.

Qualifications

• Educated to a BSc or higher in Chemistry or another relevant field
• Previous experience in organic chemistry and working with composites
• Demonstrable experience in people leadership
• Strong technical ability and an understanding of how to interpret and present complex data
• Familiarity with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality standards in laboratory and industrial settings

Desirable

• Experience working with thermosetting materials and injection moulding
• Experience adjusting formulations to client specifications
