To support the fast growing user community and the introduction of new and industry-leading products and services including AI enablement, we are continually expanding our backbone network infrastructure around the globe. We are looking for a results-driven Technical Lead Manager (50% IC, 50% people Manager) to join our EMEASCA Network Investments team to support our growing network footprint needs. This individual will support a team of 6-8 ICs covering the European and Trans-Atlantic sub-regions and lead network investments through capacity and dark fiber leases and acquisitions, network infrastructure development, and construction.
Required Skills:
- Support a team of 6-8 ICs including setting goals and priorities, providing day-to-day project guidance and advice.
- Provide career development and responsible for performance management of team members.
- Develop regional strategic plans to address capacity demands, including private and joint build efforts with partner organizations.
- Collect, distill and analyse market intelligence to help inform strategic development.
- Understand the telecom wholesale market technological and commercial developments and positions Meta in the right place. Represents Meta network team in conferences and trade shows.
- Work closely with cross functional teams to develop network requirement and acquisition strategies and optimises processes to ensure frictionless collaboration.
- Work closely with team members, finance and planning teams to develop robust budgets, forecasts and long-range investment plans.
- Identify internal workflow improvements, including the adoption of AI tooling to improve the scalability and efficiency of team processes.
- Generate clear and objective investment analysis and recommendations for large, multi-year infrastructure projects.
- BEng/BA/BSC or equivalent in technical or business related field with at least 10 years of relevant experience.
- Understanding and experience in subsea cables, fiber infrastructure, and carrier market players.
- Proven experience with business development projects and managing joint investments with partners across multiple regions.
- Proven competence motivating, developing and managing high performance teams.
- Availability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time abroad.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Communication and people management skills including relationship building and collaboration with cross-functional teams and with external partners.
- Proven track record of leading broad, cross-functional teams on major deal executions.
- Business and technical knowledge of networking particularly in transport technologies.
- Fluent in broad range of AI tooling and track record of driving team adoption.
- Multilingual in 1 or more regional business languages, proficiency in French or Spanish would be bonus.
