Job summary

Searchability® invites a Technical Lead to shape a brand-new platform within a senior AI-first engineering environment in Liverpool. You will steer backend design, APIs, integrations, and data flows while guiding a cross-functional team and maintaining hands-on coding across the stack.

The role emphasizes architectural ownership, AI-assisted development practices, and setting engineering standards to drive the platform forward in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Experience with React and Next.js.
• Proven track record designing scalable software architectures.
• Cloud experience across Azure, AWS or GCP.
• Strong understanding of API design, integrations and distributed systems.
• Experience providing technical leadership and mentoring engineers.
• Passion for modern engineering practices and AI‑assisted development.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Strong understanding of software architecture and engineering best practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of scalable backend services, APIs, integrations and data flows.
• Provide architectural guidance across the wider engineering team.
• Remain hands-on with development while shaping long-term platform strategy.
• Establish engineering standards and drive adoption of AI-assisted development practices.
• Collaborate with Product teams and stakeholders to align on technical direction.
