Job summary

Allegis Group seeks a Tech Lead to own the Gen AI product vision and drive delivery across cross-functional teams. You will shape the technical strategy for Gen AI, data and analytics, and ensure governance, security and regulatory alignment across the lifecycle.

You will mentor teams, advance DevOps, DataOps and MLOps practices, and champion FAIR data principles in data pipelines and Gen AI solutions.

Job description

Salary: £40,000 - 70,000 per year

Requirements:

• We are looking for a Tech Lead with at least 10 years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, and cloud engineering, including recent leadership in Generative AI (Gen AI) and Machine Learning (ML) solution delivery. Strong technical mastery in data engineering, software engineering, and cloud platforms is essential, along with advanced knowledge of Generative AI systems and frameworks. You should possess expertise in AI engineering principles, including MLOps, prompt engineering, model deployment, and operationalizing large language models (LLMs). Familiarity with Data Mesh and Data Product concepts for modern data architecture is advantageous.
• In addition, we require a solid understanding and practical application of DevOps, MLOps, and DataOps methods, processes, and tooling. A demonstrated capability in product development and management, especially concerning Gen AI features, is necessary. You should be able to provide technical thought leadership in Generative AI and Data & Analytics, showcasing exceptional stakeholder management and collaboration skills in complex environments.
• Proficiency in Agile methodologies, full-stack development (backend: Node.js, Python; frontend: ReactJS), and hands-on experience in delivering Gen AI solutions from ideation through productization is essential. Advanced skills in data storage and management platforms like Snowflake, along with expertise in SQL and NoSQL database technologies, are critical for this role.

Responsibilities:

• As a Tech Lead, you will collaborate with product teams to provide technical direction and support for Gen AI solutions across cross-functional groups. You will own the Gen AI product vision, defining and communicating the technical vision while ensuring solutions meet product goals. Your role will involve maintaining clear technical designs and project documentation, refining user stories, and managing resources and timelines.
• You will be responsible for identifying and managing technical risks, proactively assessing Gen AI-specific risks such as model bias and data privacy, and ensuring visibility of mitigation strategies. Leading and mentoring teams will be a key aspect of your role, inspiring technical teams, fostering collaboration, and encouraging innovation in Gen AI development.
• Establishing governance frameworks will also fall under your responsibilities to ensure ethical and responsible AI practices. Furthermore, you will ensure service readiness by making certain that Gen AI solutions meet Service Acceptance Criteria for successful deployment, while aligning development with regulatory, security, and industry requirements throughout the lifecycle.
• Moreover, overseeing DevOps, DataOps, and MLOps will be vital to ensure Gen AI solutions adhere to coding, security, and performance standards. You will champion FAIR data principles, advocating for findability, accessibility, interoperability, and reusability in data pipelines and Gen AI solutions.
