Job summary

Sonnedix is seeking a Technical Lead to shape the architecture and roadmap of FinTel, our core financial modelling platform. You will lead with hands‑on involvement in design, development, reviews and problem solving, while promoting CI/CD and AI-enabled improvements across the engineering function.

Job description

The Role

The Technical Lead will join the Engineering & Architecture team to provide strategic and hands‑on technical leadership for Sonnedix’s business-critical financial modelling platform, FinTel. FinTel generates key financial outputs, including IRR and NAV, that support important investment decisions and reporting processes. You will own and shape the platform’s technical vision, architecture and roadmap, ensuring it remains secure, scalable, resilient and aligned with the evolving needs of the business.

The Role

This is a hands‑on leadership role where you will combine architectural decision‑making with active involvement in solution design, development, code reviews and complex technical problem‑solving. You will drive modern engineering practices across automation, CI/CD, testing, observability and operational excellence, while identifying opportunities to apply AI and create greater value for users and the wider business. Working closely with Engineering, Product and Finance, you will translate complex business and financial requirements into pragmatic technical solutions, while building sustainable internal capability and reducing reliance on external vendors through mentoring, knowledge sharing and collaboration.

What we're looking for

• A degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience


• Experience providing technical leadership for complex, business-critical platforms or software solutions, with the ability to set direction while remaining hands‑on


• Strong experience designing and evolving secure, scalable, resilient cloud-based solutions and modern software architectures


• Proven hands‑on engineering capability, including solution design, development, code reviews and technical troubleshooting


• Strong understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, automated testing and observability, with a focus on automation and operational excellence


• Experience designing APIs, complex data flows and integrations across enterprise environments


• Strong communication, influencing and prioritisation skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts and business requirements into pragmatic decisions and effective solutions for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders


• A genuine interest in understanding complex business and financial domains, learning quickly and translating new knowledge, technologies and ideas into practical solutions
