Job summary

Recruitment Solutions Workforce Ltd in Newbridge is seeking a Technical Engineer - Electrical/Electronic to analyse Bills of Materials, research components, and implement changes to meet customer build standards. You will work with ERP to update BOMs, manage ECNs, and liaise with customers and suppliers.

The role is permanent, with standard hours Mon-Thu 8am-5pm and Fri 8am-1pm; a competitive package includes pension and healthcare.

Qualifications

• Experience generating BOM structures in an ERP environment.
• Experience with engineering change control (ECN) processes.
• Experience with component approval and DFMA activities.

Responsibilities

• Interpret Bills of Materials and extract device descriptions and manufacturer's codes.
• Write and control ECNs for customer/internal use.
• Write and control temporary change notes (Build Deviations).
• Research electronic and mechanical components from various sources and register them in the ERP.
• Resolve component queries and assess alternatives for production suitability.
• Liaise with customers and suppliers on product build standards and obsolescence issues.

Main Purpose of Role

Analysing and converting of Bills of Materials (BOM's) to customer requirements. Researching electronic/mechanical components using various sources. Implementing any changes and resolving build standard issues, evaluating alternative components, and liaising with customers/suppliers on product build standards.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and analyse customer Bills of Materials (BOM) and extract the description and component manufacturer's order code for each device listed.
• Write and control both customer / internal Engineering Change Notes (ECN's).
• Write and control both customer / internal Temporary Change Notes (Build Deviation's).
• Study and research electronic and mechanical components using various sources and register them on the company ERP system.
• Resolve component related queries (evaluating alternatives, component identification, production format suitability etc).
• Register alternative devices within the company ERP system and amend the BOM in line with the customers change instruction.
• Liaise with customers and suppliers on product build standard (including resolving obsolescence).
• Work both as part of a project team and on own initiative, managing own workload while also working to a guided approach.
• Support the generation of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) activities.
• Ensure that all company operating values and compliance procedures are adhered to at all times, including quality management, health and safety, legal stipulation, environmental policies and general duty of care.

Person Specification

Essential Education

• HNC/HND level in Electrical / Electronic Engineering (Minimum)

Essential Knowledge

• Experience of the following engineering functions within the Electronic Contract Manufacturing environment:
  • Generating Bills of Material structures within the ERP system.
  • Engineering Change control.
  • Component Approval.
  • Design for Manufacturing activities.

Working Hours:

Mon to Thurs 8am to 5pm Friday 8am to 1pm
