Job description

The company is an established and leading manufacturer of safety hardware and solutions to various industries such as defence, rail, automotive and marine.

They are seeking to recruit a Technical Engineer for their operations in the Redditch area.

Salary - circa £40k - £45k per annum.

Hours of work are; Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 4:30pm and Friday 7:30am to 1:30pm.

The main responsibility of the role is to provide technical assistance and support to customers after the product has been despatched. To provide technical troubleshooting along with investigation of product on return ensuring customer satisfaction and needs are met.

Responsibilities
  • Provide timely and effective technicalsupport to customers.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues via problem solving, recommend and investigate solutions and preventative measures, perform repairs.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and resolutions.
  • Close collaboration with quality and engineering teams- to resolve complex issues and implementation of preventative measures.
  • Manage warranty claims and ensure timely resolution.
  • Communicate proactively with clients in a timely manner.
  • Manage spare parts inventory.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • On site support on client premises when required.
Experience & Qualifications
  • A strong technical engineering background required.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Good CAD Design experience.
  • Previously worked in a parts returns, warranty and service environment.
  • Hold some degree of supervision or managerial experience.
  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills- able to analyse complex issues and provide effective solutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Pro-active approach and good problem solver.
  • Able to work independentlyand multi task.
  • Hold a valid driving license and willing to visit client sites when required (approx once a month).

The company is based in Redditch and is commutable from Birmingham, Bromsgrove, Alcester, Solihull, Worcester, Droitwich, Dudley, Stratford upon Avon, Evesham.
