Job description

Evac has been a pioneer in sustainable technologies and solutions for decades. Today we are the world’s leading provider of integrated Evac® water, waste and wastewater technologies, Cathelco® corrosion protection and marine growth prevention and HEM® freshwater systems.

Our technologies address the increasing need for innovative solutions driven by the megatrends of climate change, circularity, and increasingly scarce freshwater resources. We contribute to a better environment and cleaner seas by helping our customers eliminate waste, conserve water, mitigate emissions, and lengthen the lifecycle of their vessels or buildings. Together with our 500 colleagues in 14 countries, we strive for a future with no waste.

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail‑oriented Technical Documentation Author to join our dynamic team in Chesterfield. In this role, you will develop and implement comprehensive technical documentation solutions, support project teams with technical reviews and compliance, and ensure the delivery of high‑quality publications to our diverse global customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, implement, and maintain technical documentation solutions for projects and customers.
  • Work closely with Project Managers and Engineers to create coherent and complete documentation packs throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and format documentation according to customer Data Interface Documents (DIDs) and Customer Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs).
  • Review customer quotation proposals, ensuring compliance and identifying deviations. Prepare briefing packs for design and engineering teams.
  • Gain a deep understanding of Cathelco’s product range and specialist systems to produce accurate support and service documentation.
  • Produce Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) documentation, including Bills of Material (BOM), parts breakdowns, and spare parts recommendations.
  • Track and monitor document submissions, revision histories, and deadlines in line with customer and export control requirements.
  • Liaise effectively with customer engineering and documentation teams to ensure alignment and timely delivery.
  • Maintain project trackers, timelines, and documentation within internal and customer portals.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience in developing, implementing, and delivering high‑quality technical publications.
  • Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects independently.
  • Excellent technical problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
  • Strong written English and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SAP, and AutoCAD.
  • Experience with project tracking tools and document management systems.
  • Good understanding of engineering data, from drawings to design reports.
  • Knowledge of BOM structures, parts breakdowns, and ILS documentation.
  • Familiarity with FMEA/FMECA processes is advantageous but not essential.
  • Marine industry experience would be beneficial, though not mandatory.
  • Experience and capability are valued more highly than formal educational qualifications.
Personal Attributes
  • Self‑motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Committed to meeting deadlines and maintaining high standards of quality.
  • Enthusiastic and customer‑focused, with a drive to exceed expectations.
