An excellent opportunity has arisen for Technical Design Engineer to join our busy Projects team at GF BFS (previously known as Uponor UK). This is an office-based role (hybrid working offered) principally responsible for the timely production of accurate GF Building Flow Solutions system designs and estimates, and providing technical advice on products, estimates and designs for our customers.

What will you be doing?

  • Manage and support the production of commercial and domestic designs, quotations, and estimates daily.

  • Conduct technical concept development and provide quotations requiring in-depth technical knowledge.

  • Provide engineering support to clients by producing technical drawings, hydraulic calculations, material lists, and furnishing additional technical details.

  • Offer active technical support to sales and marketing teams, ensuring seamless collaboration.

  • Manage project schedules and engineering design deliverables to ensure timely and accurate completion.

  • Communicate with clients regarding technical and timeline aspects of projects and ensure effective collaboration with other departments as required.

  • Assist in reviewing, developing, and improving design and estimating tools, processes, procedures, and standards.

  • Become proficient in all estimating, design, and support software through required training.

What will you need?

  • HNC or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Proven experience as a Design and Estimating Engineer, ideally within HVAC or plumbing/heating systems.

  • Strong technical understanding of design principles and calculation methods in fluid mechanics and heat transfer.

  • Good knowledge of building materials, systems, and product standards.

  • Proficiency in MS Office, CAD tools, relevant engineering software, and Salesforce (CRM).

  • Excellent communication skills across a range of internal and external stakeholders.

  • A collaborative, open-minded, and team-oriented approach.

  • Experience in customer care and service is a plus.
