Job Title: Technical Design Engineer

Location: Croxley Green, Hertfordshire – Hybrid (3 days office / 2 days home after training)

Salary: Up to £38,000 per annum (DOE) + Annual Bonus + Benefits

Hours: Monday – Thursday 8:30 am to 5:15 pm, Friday 8:30 am to 4:15 pm (40 hours per week)

Are you a technically minded engineer with experience in estimating and design within plumbing, heating, or HVAC systems? This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading manufacturer of innovative plumbing and heating solutions, supporting both domestic and large‑scale commercial projects across the UK.

Working within the Projects Team, you’ll play a vital role in providing technical, design and estimating support to the UK Sales Team, helping deliver accurate system designs, quotations and customer solutions for a variety of building applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the UK Sales Team by managing customer enquiries and providing timely technical advice.
  • Produce commercial and domestic system designs, quotations and estimates.
  • Create technical drawings, hydraulic calculations and material lists for client proposals.
  • Provide day‑to‑day technical support to sales and marketing teams.
  • Ensure design and estimating deliverables are completed on time and to specification.
  • Assist in the development of design tools, processes and documentation.
  • Develop proficiency with company software and systems through structured training.

  • Proven experience in design and estimating roles within plumbing, heating or HVAC sectors.
  • Strong technical mindset with a good grasp of design principles, fluid mechanics and heat transfer.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools, MS Office and relevant engineering or CRM software (e.g., Salesforce).
  • Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills with a collaborative approach.
  • HNC / Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline (advantageous).
  • Candidates with strong estimating experience and interest in developing design capability are encouraged to apply.
