Job summary

Munich Re Group is seeking an experienced data & analytics leader to drive data delivery, architecture, and Delta Lake initiatives in a cloud-based environment. The role demands deep knowledge of SQL, Python, and data integration within Databricks and Azure ecosystems, with insurance/reinsurance familiarity as a plus.

You will guide cross-functional teams, shape data models, and ensure high-quality data production while navigating complex regulatory and business requirements.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands on experience in SQL, Python, Data Integration/Ingestion and associated patterns using Databricks, ADF, Notebooks etc.
• Experience in developing and supporting Delta Lakes using concepts such as medallion architecture and dimension concepts
• Working with Cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure.
• Experience with on-prem and cloud versions of databases such as Oracle and SQL Server.

Knowledge And Skills

• Experience with Agile delivery frameworks/methodologies (e.g. Scrum, SAFe) and tools (i.e. Jira, AzureDevOps).
• Demonstrate a proven track record of having implemented solutions using one or more agile methodologies in conjunction with a large system integration partner.
• Experience with mass ingestion capabilities and cloud process flows, data quality and master data management
• Understanding data related security challenges and tooling with specific technologies (e.g. Databricks)
• Experience in migrating data and associated systems from on-prem to Cloud environments
• Consulting and collaborative working style creating a culture of accountability and sharing.
• Knowledge of advanced analytics (models, tools, etc.) and their operational support is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication coupled with negotiation skills.
• Ability to work in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
• Lloyds/Company Market (re)insurance experience with a good knowledge of products and markets
