Job summary

British Gypsum and Isover, part of Saint-Gobain UK & Ireland, are seeking a Technical Consultant to provide expert technical guidance and tailored solutions across drylining systems. You will collaborate with architects, main contractors and internal teams to develop Bespoke specifications and advise on regulations, product performance and system design.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction industry in design/spec/technical support roles.
• Strong understanding of building regulations and performance requirements.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical information clearly.
• Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple enquiries.
• Ability to collaborate with architects, contractors, developers and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical advice and bespoke specification solutions for customers and internal teams across British Gypsum and Isover drylining systems.
• Support architects, main contractors and construction professionals with guidance on regulations and product performance.
• Collaborate with sales and internal departments to ensure accurate, commercially viable solutions.
• Manage technical enquiries through written and verbal communication with timely, high-quality responses.
• Continuously update knowledge of construction standards and relevant systems to keep advice current.

Job description

At British Gypsum and Isover we are looking for a Technical Consultant to join our Technical Support team, helping to deliver expert technical guidance, specification support and tailored solutions across our drylining systems.

You will work closely with both internal colleagues and external professionals to develop bespoke technical solutions that support a wide range of projects, including large-scale commercial builds. What we're looking for:

• Experience working in the construction industry, ideally within a design, specification or technical support role.
• Strong understanding of building regulations and technical performance requirements, including fire safety, acoustics, structural and thermal performance.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical information clearly to a variety of stakeholders
• A proactive and organised approach, with the ability to manage multiple technical enquiries and prioritise effectively.
• Someone who enjoys problem solving and working collaboratively with external customers, including architects, main contractors and residential developers, and internal teams.

What you will be doing:

• Providing technical advice and bespoke specification solutions for customers and internal stakeholders across British Gypsum and Isover drylining systems.
• Supporting architects, main contractors and construction professionals with guidance on regulations, product performance and system design.
• Collaborating closely with sales teams and internal departments to ensure customers receive accurate and commercially effective solutions.
• Managing technical enquiries through written and verbal communication, delivering clear, timely and high-quality responses.
• Continuously developing your knowledge of construction standards, legislation and British Gypsum and Isover systems to ensure advice remains accurate and up to date.
