Job description

The Technical Compliance Manager is accountable for developing, improving, and implementing the Technical Safety and Quality systems for branded and retailer own brand products at Albert Bartlett Added Value site. As an expert in auditing and systems management they will train teams within the site (e.g., production and QA) in Albert Bartlett Quality and safety systems, HACCP, and relevant internal audit procedures. Reporting to the Site Technical Manager, they will deputise when appropriate. They will be accountable for developing and managing BRC and customer unannounced audits to the highest level. They will provide appropriate management information and reports to enable improvement in the Albert Bartlett quality systems.

They will manage the testing programme to ensure adherence to the QMS, TACCP/ VACCP and HACCP programmes.

In addition, when necessary, deputise for the Technical Manager.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of methods of business communication.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skills in handling and resolving problems effectively.
  • Proven ability to work with production colleagues to deliver customer‑focused results.
  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently and proceed with tasks without supervision.
  • Ability to use computer systems to assist with job.
  • Knowledge of Quality Systems theory and their implementation.
  • Intermediate or Advanced HACCP. Lead Assessor qualification preferable.
  • Managerial skills.
Qualifications:
ESSENTIAL
  • Educated to a high level (Degree preferred) in a science related discipline.
  • Experience in a retail/fresh produce/added value/high‑care environment.
  • Experience in quality assurance/quality control/food safety/microbiological standards.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
EXPERIENCE
  • Managerial Experience.
  • HACCP.
  • Audit Qualification and experience and proven delivery of effective food safety and quality management systems. (BRC / Customer)
  • Excellent Communication Skills.
