Qualifications

Vickerstock is delighted to be working in partnership with our Food Manufacturing client whose aim is to create food ranges that brings bespoke experience and deliver exquisite artisan bakery and food to go products to their customers with the appointment of Technical Compliance Co-Ordinator.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring that all products and processes comply with food safety regulations, customer requirements, and internal quality standards.

What your typical day will look like:
  • Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) to meet BRCGS, HACCP, legal, and customer requirements.
  • Monitor site compliance with food safety, quality, and integrity standards through audits, inspections, and data reviews.
  • Manage supplier approval and documentation, and support product specification and labelling compliance.
  • Investigate non-conformances and customer complaints, ensuring effective root cause analysis and implementation of CAPAs.
  • Coordinate and review microbiological, allergen, and environmental testing, monitoring trends and maintaining accurate records.
  • Conduct internal audits, GMP checks, and horizon scanning to ensure ongoing compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Deliver training on food safety, hygiene, and quality procedures, promoting a strong food safety culture.
  • Liaise with Production, NPD, Procurement, and other teams to ensure technical compliance across the supply chain.
  • Prepare and report site KPIs, audit results, and performance metrics to support operational improvement.
  • Support the Technical Manager and cover QA responsibilities as required.
Your essential ingredients:
  • Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience). OR At least 2 years' Experience in a technical or quality role within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards such as BRCGS, HACCP, and relevant legislation
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality management systems.
Desirable Criteria (it would be great if you have these but don't worry if you don't!)
  • Internal Auditor qualification.
  • Experience with retailer standards (e.g., Dunnes, Henderson, Morrison, Aldi).
  • Previous bakery or confectionary experience
  • Root cause analysis training
  • Traceability experience
  • Allergen Risk Assessment
  • Experience of Audit compliance
  • HACCP & Food Defence experience
