Technical CI Engineer - Mechanical Design

Location: Port Talbot

Hours: Monday to Friday 08:30am - 17:00pm

Job type: Permanent

Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum (Overtime available at x1.5 on weekdays & x2 on weekends)

Hawk 3 Talent Solutions, operating as an employment agency, are currently recruiting for a Technical CI Engineer to join our clients leading manufacturing site within Port Talbot.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands on Engineer to take ownership of process improvements across the production facility - balancing office based analysis and design with practical, on-the-floor engagement.

The Role
  • Resolve daily process challenges using structured problem solving tools (A3, 5 Whys, Root Cause Analysis, 8D).
  • Lead CI projects using Lean / TPS methodologies such as 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, and SMED.
  • Analyze performance data and develop clear KPIs and dashboards to track improvements.
  • Support strategic initiatives in automation, digitalization, sustainability and capacity expansion.
  • Collaborate across departments to improve OEE, reduce downtime, and enhance product quality.
About you
  • HNC / HND / Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering or similar.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, process engineering or CI role.
  • Strong working knowledge of Lean, Kaizen or Six Sigma tools.
  • Skilled in 3D modelling / design software (Solid Edge, AutoCAD or similar).
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
