A leading technology consulting firm is seeking a Technical Business Analyst for a hybrid role in London. Overview

Technical Business Analyst – SC Cleared

Location: Hybrid, London

Contract: 3 months initially

Daily rate: Circa £400 per day, Inside IR35

Responsibilities
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to capture, validate, and translate business and technical requirements.
  • Using SQL to analyse datasets, identify trends, validate assumptions, and support data-driven decisions.
  • Working with AWS-based data platforms (e.g., S3, Redshift, Lambda, Glue) to support discovery, design and solution shaping.
  • Mapping current and future-state processes, identifying gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for automation.
  • Working with data, engineering, and security teams to ensure solutions meet privacy, governance, and compliance standards.
  • Leading or supporting Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for new products, systems, or data integrations.
  • Creating clear artefacts: user stories, acceptance criteria, process maps, data flow diagrams, technical documentation, and impact assessments.
  • Supporting delivery teams with backlog refinement, prioritisation, and alignment to business outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Strong experience as a Technical BA in data-driven or cloud-heavy environments.
  • Hands-on SQL skills for querying, profiling, and analysing data.
  • Practical exposure to AWS services (e.g., S3, Redshift, EC2, Lambda, RDS, Glue).
  • Experience with data governance, information security, or privacy workflows.
  • Knowledge of or direct involvement in Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and confidently.
  • Background working with Agile teams (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Excellent stakeholder management and documentation skills.
  • Nice to have: Knowledge of ETL/ELT pipelines or data warehousing concepts.
  • Familiarity with data modelling or BI tools.
  • Experience working with cross-functional cloud or platform teams.
  • Understanding of UK GDPR and broader data protection regulations.
