Technical Business Analyst – API Integration and Workflow Automation

Location: Hybrid (London -3 days in-office P/W)

Duration: 12-Month FTC Contract paying up to £65k + market competitive benefits

Role Overview

We are seeking a Technical Business Analyst to support a major programme of API integration and workflow automation across the bank. This is a hands‑on, delivery‑focused role that will suit someone who enjoys turning complex business needs into clear and precise technical requirements, working closely with architects, developers, and operational teams.

You will play a key role in modernising how systems connect, how data flows, and how processes are automated to improve customer experience and operational efficiency.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Analyse business processes to identify where API integrations or workflow automation will add value.
  • Produce high-quality documentation, including functional requirements, data mapping, process flows, and user stories.
  • Define API‑related requirements (payloads, sequencing, data contracts, exception handling).
  • Support the design of integration patterns and workflow solutions in alignment with architectural direction.
  • Work with SMEs across banking operations, CRM, payments, and digital teams to refine requirements and validate solutions.
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure requirements are understood, traceable, and testable.
  • Support testing activities by developing test scenarios, validating outcomes, and helping resolve defects.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of processes, tooling, and documentation standards.
About You – The Successful candidate
  • Experience as a Business Analyst with exposure to API integration projects
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, data structures, and integration workflows
  • Able to produce clear, concise documentation for both business and technical audiences including strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Comfortable working with Azure DevOps, Jira, Confluence, Visio or similar tools
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a structured approach to problem solving
  • Experience in financial services or other regulated environments is essential
  • Knowledge of Azure Logic Apps, APIM, or workflow automation tools is desirable
