Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail oriented Technical Auditor to join a well established manufacturing business based at their Head Office in Bolton. This permanent, full-time position suits someone with manufacturing experience and a solid understanding of internal standards, processes, and documentation. As a Technical Auditor you will be working closely with both operational and technical teams, the successful candidate will help maintain compliance, audit readiness, and process control. This varied, hands on role requires flexibility and adaptability to support product launches, internal audits, and compliance reviews. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual looking to advance their career within a supportive, quality focused environment as a Technical Auditor.

Working hours: Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week. Occasional weekend working may be required, with time off given during the week. Salary is based on experience.

Responsibilities
  • Carrying out routine audits to ensure ongoing compliance across production and operational processes.
  • Reviewing internal documentation and quality records to maintain accuracy, consistency, and traceability.
  • Monitoring working practices to ensure they align with internal standards and external requirements.
  • Supporting trial runs, new product introductions, and process changes to ensure specifications are met.
  • Preparing for and supporting internal and third-party audits by ensuring systems are up to date and well maintained.
  • Identifying non conformances, reporting findings, and assisting in the implementation of corrective actions.
  • Liaising with supervisors and team leads to promote understanding of quality expectations and best practice.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement by identifying recurring issues and supporting root cause analysis.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • A solid understanding of quality processes, compliance procedures, and audit standards.
  • Awareness of how compliance and documentation support overall operational resilience and continuity.
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as HACCP or internal auditing is beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with confidence working across departments.
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to spot trends or inconsistencies in data and processes.
  • Comfortable handling documentation, reports, and records accurately and efficiently.
  • Self motivated, reliable, and able to manage workload independently.
  • A flexible approach to working hours, particularly around key production and audit schedules.
  • Experience working in an audit ready business or to customer specific standards is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Word, Outlook Excel, and ERP training will be given on in-house systems.
