As a Technical Assistant (Buildings & Infrastructure) you will play a key role in ensuring statutory compliance, maintenance and inspection of buildings and associated infrastructure within the Public Spaces Department, along with providing support to the Technical Officer & Area teams in respect of the repair and maintenance of facilities across Rhondda Cynon Taf. Working as part of a dedicated frontline team, you will contribute directly to monitoring, maintaining and improving all buildings and infrastructure under the remit of the Public Spaces Department.

We are seeking a motivated and reliable individual who takes pride in their work and is committed to delivering high standards of service. The successful candidate will undertake a variety of duties, working both independently and as part of a team to support the Council’s ambitious objectives.

Reporting to the Technical Officer, you will assist in achieving objectives and performance targets set out in the business plans for the Public Spaces Department, including the Parks Capital Investment Programme.

Candidates will need to demonstrate a positive attitude and excellent communication and digital literacy skills.

Experience in building inspections and knowledge of building projects is essential and experience in monitoring works/contractors would be an advantage. A commitment to health and safety, customer care and teamwork is essential.

The successful candidates will be based within the Council's Public Spaces Department, operating from Aberdare Park lodge, with duties undertaken throughout the County Borough as required.
