Qualifications

Technical Assistant

Location: Kent Community Workshops (and other MTS/customer premises as required)

Hours: 37.5 per week (Monday–Friday, 08:00–16:30 or 08:30–17:00)

Salary: £25,375 per year

About the Role

We are looking for a amotivatedTechnical Assistant tojoin our team, supporting the maintenance and repair of a wide range ofbiomedical devices across specified sites.You’ll work closely with yourmanager and Biomedical Engineers to ensure all service targets andKey Performance Indicators (KPIs) areachieved, while maintaining high standards of quality and customersatisfaction.

This role offers anexcellent opportunity to build your technical skills within a supportive,team-focused environment, working underMTS’s Quality Management System(QMS).

Main Responsibilities
  • Carry outPlanned Preventive Maintenance (PPM)andCorrective Maintenance (CM)on a wide range of medical devices (following training).
  • Work in line with manufacturer specifications for all maintenance activities.
  • Complete associated administrative tasks and maintain accurate records within the company’s management database.
  • Support Biomedical Engineers in day-to-day operations and exceed KPI targets.
  • Maintainsafe working practicesand adhere to all Health & Safety policies.
  • Manage and maintain stock levels of spare parts.
Additional Duties
  • Assist in scheduling planned and remedial workload.
  • Help manage contract workload requirements.
  • Maintain service documentation in line with OEM specifications.
  • Escalate issues or resource requirements as needed.
  • Liaise effectively with third-party suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Ensure integrity of asset data and maintain tools/test equipment.
  • Identify and support service improvement initiatives.
About You
  • You’ll have at least1 years' experiencein a biomedical engineering or similar technical field and a strong commitment to quality, safety, and customer service.
Essential requirements:
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant technical experience (biomedical or related field).
  • Strong organisational, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Proactive and customer‑focused attitude.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
