Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, or a related field.
• Understanding of food safety legislation, HACCP principles, and BRCGS standards.
• Awareness of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Previous experience in a technical or quality role within food manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily quality and CCP checks to ensure products meet specifications.
• Monitor hygiene, housekeeping, and equipment conditions across production areas.
• Collect and record product, environmental, and water samples.
• Support audits by maintaining documentation and ensuring audit readiness.
• Communicate quality findings and corrective actions with the Technical Manager.

Vickerstock are delighted to be working in partnership with our Red Meat Processing client who are committed to maintaining the highest level of quality products on the appointment of Technical Assistant for their Armagh based site.

Reporting to the Technical Manager, the Technical Assistant will support the day-to-day running of the Technical Department, ensuring compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and relevant legislation.

What your day to day will look like:

• Conduct daily quality and CCP checks to ensure products meet specifications and standards.
• Monitor hygiene, housekeeping, and equipment conditions across production areas.
• Collect and record product, environmental, and water samples, reporting any non-conformances.
• Support audits by maintaining documentation and ensuring audit readiness.
• Communicate quality findings and corrective actions with the Technical Manager and production teams.
• Maintain accurate QMS records and assist with traceability, data entry, and product trials.

What you will need to succeed:

• Degree or diploma in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, or a related field.
• Understanding of food safety legislation, HACCP principles, and BRCGS standards.
• Awareness of Quality Management Systems (QMS) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Previous experience in a technical or quality role within food manufacturing.
