Overview
As a Technical Artist at Entain's In-House Studios, your primary objective is to seamlessly blend art and technology to elevate our gaming experiences. Specialising in technical integration and game animations, you will be instrumental in bringing our game worlds to life with fluid and captivating visuals. While proficiency in tools like Spine is preferred, the focus will be on your skills in rigging, environment design, and lighting/composition, which are transferable across various software packages.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with Artists, Game Designers, and Developers to integrate art assets into the game engine while ensuring optimal performance and visual fidelity.
- Use your expertise in rigging and FK/IK techniques to create dynamic character animations, environment effects, and user interface animations that enhance gameplay immersion.
- Develop and maintain efficient pipelines for importing, exporting, and optimising art assets within the game engine, maximising productivity and workflow efficiency.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to art asset implementation and animation performance, providing timely solutions to ensure project milestones are met.
- Conduct research and experimentation with new techniques and tools in game animation and technical art, staying abreast of industry trends and best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and implement animation standards, ensuring consistency and quality across all projects.
- Provide guidance and support to other studio artists and team members on technical aspects of asset creation and animation implementation, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
- Actively participate in design and development meetings, offering insights and recommendations to enhance the overall visual quality and performance of our games.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in rigging and animation techniques (FK/IK) and experience applying them to game assets and environments.
- Proficiency with tooling related to technical art and animation; Spine familiarity is preferred but not mandatory, with a focus on transferable skills across software packages.
- Experience in environment design, lighting, and composition to support storytelling and visual quality in games.
- Ability to develop and maintain efficient asset pipelines for importing, exporting, and optimizing assets within game engines.
- Excellent collaboration skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical teammates.
