Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Senior Technical Architect to lead the design and assurance of complex architectures across multiple services and teams in the UK. You will define integration patterns, API strategies and data exchange standards while ensuring security and operational requirements are met.

You will present recommendations to management, contribute to governance and strategy, and drive architecture initiatives across Digital, Data and Technology.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in designing and delivering complex technical architectures.
• Ability to provide technical design expertise within time, cost and quality constraints.
• Leadership experience at a strategic level for large projects or programmes.
• Proven ability to communicate and influence at management level.
• Experience with BPSS and UK security clearances is expected.

• Lead the design and assurance of complex technical architectures across multiple services, platforms and delivery teams
• Define and govern enterprise integration patterns, API strategies, interoperability standards and data exchange mechanisms
• Present technology recommendations and system improvements to management
• Evaluate integrated projects and identify best practices and lessons learned
• Contribute to architecture governance and technology architecture standards
• Contribute to the department’s technical strategy and roadmap
• Develop and document technical designs for integrating and implementing technology solutions
• Work across Digital, Data and Technology and business areas
• Ensure designs meet security and operational requirements
• Act as a subject matter expert aligned with departmental, organisational and cross-government strategies
• Own digital component designs and ensure alignment with wider designs
• Build partnerships with diverse teams across multiple locations and technologies

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience in Technical Architecture
• Experience providing technical design expertise, including designing complex technology solutions within time, cost and quality constraints
• Strategic technical architecture and leadership experience, identifying technical opportunities for large projects or critical workstreams in larger programmes
• Leadership (Level 4)
• Communicating and Influencing (Level 4)
• Technical skills aligned to Senior Technical Architect within the Government Digital and Data Profession
• CV and supporting statement of no more than 1000 words
• Successful candidates must complete the Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS)
• Right to work in the UK or eligibility under the UK Skilled Worker route
• Willingness to remain in post for a minimum of 3 years unless promoted
