Job Purpose and Impact

As a Technology Application Specialist (Swine) at Cargill, you will manage the application of our portfolio offering in the marketplace both internally and externally with our customer base. Your focus will be on building trusted partnerships, delivering nutritional expertise, and driving business growth through innovative solutions.

Key Accountabilities
  • Manage the UK pig product portfolio, ensuring specifications are set and maintained with the local formulation team to deliver best performance for customers.
  • Lead the local R&D pipeline to keep the portfolio on‑target and ahead of market expectations.
  • Apply advanced knowledge of pig nutrition across all life stages, recommending feeding strategies and translating science into practical on‑farm solutions that improve animal health, growth, and efficiency.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development through Cargill's Industry‑Leading Practitioner framework, staying ahead of industry advancements and continuously refining technical and advisory skills.
  • Collaborate closely with local and regional teams of nutritionists, production experts, and technical advisors to deliver comprehensive customer support, leveraging shared knowledge to enhance recommendation value.
  • Monitor evolving customer needs, competitor activity, and market dynamics to adapt approaches and ensure Cargill remains a leader in pig‑nutrition solutions.
  • Act as a bridge between customer insights and internal innovation, ensuring feedback and market trends inform product development and service enhancements.
  • Work with international colleagues to share best practices and adapt global innovations to local needs.
  • Contribute to team goals by sharing insights, supporting peers, and participating in joint initiatives, strengthening the overall value proposition.
  • Stay attuned to industry developments, regulatory changes, and emerging trends to shape internal strategy and keep offerings competitive and relevant.
Qualifications
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in fluent English.
  • Demonstrated success as a Nutritionist across the lifecycle of a pig.
  • Ability to formulate and apply a full feeding program on farm.
  • Ability to lead group discussions.
  • Ability to assimilate detailed complex technical information and apply it practically with customers.
  • Strong experience of technically supporting a range of customers at different levels and articulating new products, concepts and knowledge.
  • Ability to work cross‑functionally across a range of internal stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites across the UK as required and to internal Cargill locations.
