A local government body in the UK is seeking a Transport/Technical Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance of firefighting equipment. Candidates should be capable of teamwork and work independently, possess good planning skills, and be flexible with working hours. The role demands a full driving license and involves travel to various stations. A robust training package will be provided, with a focus on support and community safety.
Warwickshire Fire and Rescue are responsible and dedicated to protecting the community and making Warwickshire a safer place to live. A fantastic opportunity has now arisen for one or more Transport/Technical Maintenance Technicians to provide support at both our Fire Service HQ in Leamington Spa and/or at our depot in Coleshill.
Working within a team you will be faced with conflicting demands and competing priorities daily and one of your primary responsibilities will be to ensure that the service, maintenance and repair of firefighting equipment takes place within agreed timescales. To achieve this, the role will require travelling round to various Stations and access to a vehicle will be provided and therefore a full driving licence is essential.
Additionally a full training package will be provided to successful applicant(s)where required and this may involve short stays away from home.
The Transport and Technical departments are open between 8 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday. However, depending on operational needs you may be required to work different hours but note this role does require you to be available for out of hours cover 24/7 on a rota basis which includes weekends.
We are looking for professional and enthusiastic individuals to help us provide a robust and efficient service in everything that we do.
Accurate administrative and keyboard skills are paramount as all repairs and testing will have to be recorded accurately on our Equipment Management System.
