Job Description

Technical Analyst

Salary : c. £39,000 per annum

Hours : Full time - 35 hours

Contract : Permanent

Location : Hybrid Working (Head Office, West Bromwich)

We are currently looking for an experienced Technical Analyst to join our Desktop Support Team here at the West Brom. We are a vibrant team who are at the core of the support function, you’ll work with every sector of the Society in a varied and challenging capacity.

There are three key elements to the role that cover :
  • BAU troubleshooting support across all user endpoints. This also includes telephony, printing devices, mobile devices as well as core Windows queries / incidents.
  • Project work across a range of varied functions, such as M365 Migration, application upgrades and device refreshes.
  • IT Security focused work including patch updates and general vulnerability management
The Key Responsibilities Are :
  • Windows 10 / 11 build automation and image management.
  • Endpoint device set-up and configuration.
  • Hardware and software product lifecycle management.
  • Upgrades of software and systems as required.
  • Support of Telephony system and associated components (Mitel, Redbox, and Right Fax)
  • Software and Hardware Asset Management.
  • Resolution of assigned calls made through the Service desk.
  • Assist in the recovery of the Societies systems during Business Continuity testing and in the event of a Disaster itself.
  • Provide out of hours support for the Desktop Support Team as per rota.
  • Ensuring Security procedures and processes are fully followed and advise on IT security related issues.
  • Liaise with 3rd party service providers to resolve problems within agreed timescales.
  • Vulnerability Management to identify and fix Security vulnerabilities.
  • MDM solution administration.
  • Support the Society branch network across 34 locations and our head office functions.
  • Support equipment and testing of disaster recovery sites.
The skills and experienced required are :
  • Previous Experience in a 2nd Line / 3rd Line Technical Support role
  • Understanding of licensing and compliance.
  • Detailed knowledge of Windows and iOS Operating systems.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft technology and infrastructure platforms including Windows operating systems , M365, Entra and Intune.
  • Experience of Windows based administration tools such as Active Directory and Group Policy.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical and fault-finding skills
  • Able to automate system management tasks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong customer focus.
  • Ability to produce clear and detailed technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of network environments and concepts such as TCP / IP, DHCP, DNS.
  • Understanding of ITIL, including incident management, change management and configuration management.
  • Vulnerability Management.
