Job summary

Yolk Recruitment is seeking a Technical Advisory Engineer to support customers through the design and installation of roofing, cladding and façade systems in Cardiff. You will review drawings, perform calculations and provide practical, compliant solutions with a focus on correct application.

The role requires strong knowledge of roofing and cladding, AutoCAD proficiency, and ability to communicate with architects, contractors and internal teams. Hybrid working applies after training.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge and practical understanding of roofing and cladding systems is essential.
• Able to read, interpret and understand architectural and technical construction drawings.
• Experience using AutoCAD to produce or amend construction details.
• Understanding of building physics, thermal performance and acoustics is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Act as technical point of contact for customers during design and installation.
• Review drawings and proposals, identify issues, and suggest solutions.
• Produce and amend AutoCAD construction details for projects.
• Perform design calculations including U-values, condensation risk and acoustics.
• Advise architects and contractors on correct applications of roofing and cladding systems.
• Ensure technical advice is accurate and delivered within timescales.
