Technical accounting manager - group services

Uxbridge

Responsibilities
  • Technical accounting support throughout the group, with particular focus around IFRS 15, IFRS 16 and IAS 37.
  • Drafting and reviewing accounting papers and assisting in the communication through the Group.
  • Owning key elements of the external audit of the consolidated accounts and subsidiaries.
  • Preparation of subsidiary accounts and IXBRL tagging.
  • Understanding of provision 29 of the Corporate Governance Code. Involvement in implementing UK SOX controls, particularly with a focus on external reporting.
  • Involvement in month end processes and process improvements.
  • Ad hoc projects when required.
  • Compliance with IFRS, UK GAAP, internal and other regulatory requirements in completion of the consolidated, subsidiary and other statutory accounts.
  • Technical accounting support and liaising with external auditors to ensure timely and efficient audit process.
  • Ongoing month end processes and support of wider team, including other central functions where required.
  • Implementation of reporting improvements including systems.

  • Ability to work in an environment of change and to communicate/collaborate at all levels.
  • Ability to quickly understand processes and commitment to continuous process improvement.
  • A team player able to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with colleagues.
  • Well organised with good time management skills, able to deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail.
  • ACA/ACCA qualified accountant
  • Minimum 1 year post qualification experience
  • Advanced Excel knowledge
  • Technically strong in IFRS and UK GAAP
  • Good understanding of IFRS 15, IFRS 16 and IAS 37, particularly with a construction sector focus.
