Location: Sheffield

Salary: Up to £44,000 per annum

Hours: Monday-Thursday 8:00am-4:30pm, Friday 8:00am-3:30pm

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Technical Sales Engineer to join a leading engineering and manufacturing business in Sheffield. This role would suit someone with a background in manufacturing, aerospace, or automotive industries and previous experience in a commercial or technical customer-facing position.

The successful candidate will play a key role in managing customer relationships, supporting technical projects, and ensuring commercial success across a varied client base.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical and commercial support to customers, offering expert product and process knowledge.
  • Manage existing customer accounts and build strong, proactive relationships.
  • Participate in customer-specific technical and development projects, supporting new product and process introductions.
  • Prepare and issue quotations, manage the enquiry review process, and ensure timely follow-up.
  • Process customer orders, maintaining accurate records across WIP, management spreadsheets, and quality systems.
  • Collaborate closely with design, process, quality, and production teams.
  • Coordinate internal and external meetings (virtual and in-person) to support customer discussions, project updates, and commercial reviews.
  • Liaise with subcontractors and manage supplier processes to support operational needs.
  • Maintain accurate CRM data and ensure all customer interactions are recorded.
  • Support marketing activities, including attending exhibitions and industry events.
  • Handle inbound calls from new and potential customers.
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in a commercial, technical, or customer account management role within manufacturing, aerospace, or automotive sectors.
  • Strong communication and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to understand and discuss technical information with customers and internal teams.
  • Organised, detail-oriented, and confident managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A proactive approach with a strong focus on customer service and commercial results.
