Job summary

The Sutton Trust is seeking an Employability Programmes Manager to lead the design, delivery and expansion of Tech and Digital Pathways to the Professions, launching Sep 2027, and to oversee online and in-person employability programmes across the UK.

You will work with cross‑functional teams, manage partnerships with universities and employers, ensure safeguarding and GDPR compliance, and line‑manage a Programme Assistant, contributing to impact and fundraising reporting.

Qualifications

  • Managing projects/programmes, including event design, planning, administration and delivery
  • Developing and launching new programmes or initiatives, using evidence, insight and innovation to deliver high quality programming
  • Experience of leading programme change and transition
  • Leading young person-facing events and activities, including awareness of best practice in supporting student needs, ideally with experience of digital delivery
  • Facilitation of sessions with young people in person or online
  • Building and Managing relationships with both contracted and voluntary delivery partners as well as diverse stakeholder groups including corporate or funder relationships;
  • Using data to design and deliver programmes
  • Monitoring and evaluation, reporting, and administration
  • Budget management
  • Working within or an understanding of the not for profit sector

Responsibilities

  • Lead on the design, planning and delivery of the new Tech and Digital programme (pre 18) and the Careers Plus (post-18) programmes
  • Design a suite of interventions and activities for the Pathways to Tech & Digital programme for launch in September 2027
  • Deliver existing employability programmes and liaise with Alumni team for alignment
  • Plan, manage and deliver online and in-person activities including launch events, career insight, sessions, etc.
  • Liaise with Employer Engagement to plan work experience placements and employer volunteering
  • Design engagement and comms plans for strong student engagement
  • Build and manage relationships with industry partners and funders
  • Manage partnerships with external delivery organisations to meet programme aims
  • Ensure events are risk assessed and adhere to health & safety and safeguarding
  • Monitor, evaluation, accountability and learning across programmes
  • Lead programme transition and change and manage budgets and reporting
  • Linemanage a Programme Assistant and support evaluation/reporting to funders
  • Collaborate with Development team on evaluation and reporting
