Grade: G12 - Salary up to £59 490 per annum
About the Team

The new Community Enablement Team is part of our new approach to Adult Social Care and is one element of our Pathway to Independence Service alongside our Community Reablement and Prevention and Early Intervention teams.

Enablement is a therapy led team with a focus on younger adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs or who are neurodivergent, supporting them through a programme of enablement to maximise their independence and achieve their individual outcomes.

What are we looking for?

As Team Manager you will be leading and managing a team of Occupational Therapists, Occupational Therapy Assistants and Enablement Officers who will provide short term support to people in their own homes,

You will ensure the Service is delivered in line with best practice, relevant legislation and national and local policy, and that the outcomes and wellbeing of people accessing the Service is maximised.

You will work closely with other professionals and agencies to co-ordinate the Enablement Service with other elements of the wider system and promote a culture of person centredness, empowerment, independence and choice.

About You

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • A relevant professional qualification and registration with the appropriate regulatory body.
  • Significant experience of working with younger adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs or who are neurodivergent.
  • Proven experience of managing, supervising and developing staff.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the principles of enablement, strengths based assessment, personalisation and safeguarding.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise and manage conflicting demand.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
