About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Team Manager to lead our Looked After Children Team in Wolverhampton. This role offers a competitive hourly rate of £41.42 and flexible working arrangements, allowing you to choose part-time or full-time hours.

You will oversee a team of social workers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality social care, safeguarding, and support for children and young people in care. Your leadership will be instrumental in shaping strategy, maintaining statutory compliance, and fostering a culture of excellence and professional growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage, and support a team of social workers, providing effective supervision, guidance, and professional development.
  • Oversee case management for looked after children, ensuring assessments, care planning, and reviews meet statutory requirements.
  • Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are rigorously applied to prioritise child welfare.
  • Monitor team performance against key indicators, proactively addressing areas of concern.
  • Develop positive relationships with children, families, foster carers, and partner agencies.
  • Contribute to service development, policy implementation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Represent the team in multi-agency meetings, panels, and court proceedings as required.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records using the council’s electronic systems.
  • Promote a culture of reflective practice, learning, and accountability within the team.

Qualifications
