Job description

Halton Borough Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leader to join our Duty & Assessment Social Work Team. This is a key leadership role, supporting frontline social workers to deliver high-quality, timely assessments and interventions that safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people across the borough.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day operational management and supervision of social workers.
  • Oversee duty and assessment workflows, ensuring timely and proportionate responses.
  • Quality assure assessments, decision-making, and care planning.
  • Support staff development through reflective supervision and performance management.
  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Assist the Service Manager with service improvement and performance targets.
About You
  • Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
  • Significant post-qualification experience within Children's Duty & Assessment services.
