Job description

Our client, Peterborough City Council, is seeking an agency Team Manager for its Children in Care service.

This role will last 3 months initially and the pay rate available is £45 per hour.

The role will involve the following:
  • Team Manager - Children in Care
  • £45ph
  • Sand Martin House - hybrid - 3 days a week in the office, negotiable dependent on tasks
  • PCC is looking for an experienced Team Manager who will be responsible for the line management of 1 x FTE Senior SW and 1 x FTE Child Practitioner.
  • The Team Manager will report to the Head of Service for Corporate Parenting and the Service Manager for Corporate Parenting as the deputy for the Head of Service.
  • This is a bespoke role which requires the candidate to have knowledge and experience of managing social work staff who support children and young people in care, outside of the criminal justice system whose presenting behaviour can pose a significant risk of harm to themselves and others.
  • Understanding of residential children’s homes and DOLS along with the ability to work collaboratively with health and police partners is essential.

Requirements of the role:
  • Qualified Social Worker
  • Fully Social Work England registered
  • 3 years post-qualified experience in employment of a local authority (DFE rules)
  • Must have experience as a Team Manager in children’s social care
  • Must have specialist children in care experience as outlined above
