Job summary

A leading consulting service is seeking an experienced Team Manager for a Children in Care service in West Midlands. This interim role focuses on managing cases, supporting a dedicated team of social workers, and ensuring performance standards are met. Applicants should have social work qualifications and relevant management experience. The pay rate is £41 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working at Team Manager level within Children’s Services.
  • Significant post-qualifying experience in childcare fieldwork and family placement services.
  • Two years of referenceable employment history and an Enhanced DBS.

IR35 Status:Inside IR35An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Team Manager to join a Children in Care service within a Local Authority in the West Midlands. This is an initial 3-month interim contract, offering the chance to make a meaningful impact for children and young people while leading and supporting a dedicated team of social workers.

About the Role

As the Team Manager for the Children in Care service, you will:

  • Take accountability for managing all cases and referrals into the service.
  • Allocate caseloads and monitor the team’s work through regular audits, ensuring performance and quality standards are met.
  • Manage delegated budgets and ensure resources are used effectively and efficiently.
  • Provide regular professional supervision, guidance, and support to your team in line with policies and procedures.
About You

To be successful, you will bring:

  • A qualification as a Social Worker.
  • Proven experience working at Team Manager level within Children’s Services.
  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to constructively challenge where needed.
  • Significant post-qualifying experience in childcare fieldwork and family placement services, including time at Senior Practitioner level.
  • The ability to motivate staff, promote best practice, and drive performance.
  • Two years of referenceable employment history and an Enhanced DBS.
