Job description

We’re looking for a people-focused, operationally strong Health Coach Manager to join one of the UK’s most exciting health-tech startups.

You’ll design and embed the systems and processes that enable us to scale high-quality coaching.

If you’re a confident, thoughtful leader with experience building and managing high-performing teams, a genuine passion for health and wellbeing, and a drive to make meaningful impact, we'd love to hear from you.

At Second Nature, we’re on a mission to make healthy living astonishingly easy — and to eradicate type 2 diabetes and obesity through world-class digital health coaching.

What you’ll do
  • Lead and support our health coaching team (nutritionists and dietitians): Manage a team of remote health coaches, creating a culture of trust, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Ensure operational excellence: You’ll simplify complex workflows, reduce friction for your team, and use data to design smarter, more efficient ways of working
  • Drive performance and quality: Monitor team efficiency using internal quality and operational tools to optimise service performance and outcomes
  • Coach development: Deliver regular feedback and coaching to help team members grow in confidence, skill, and impact
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner with fellow Health Coach Managers, Operations Managers, Quality Managers, and teams across Product, NHS, and Partnerships to drive innovation and alignment
What we’re looking for
  • Proven people management experience (3+ years) with a track record of developing and supporting teams
  • Strong operational background - able to use data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement, and translate insights into actionable solutions
  • Excellent communication and feedback skills, able to inspire, support, and drive accountability
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and resilient - not afraid to roll up your sleeves to make things happen
  • Proven ability to drive continuous improvement by challenging existing ways of working and introducing new workflows or best practices
  • Passion for health, wellbeing, and behaviour change, and excitement about the role technology can play in transforming lives
  • Confident working both autonomously and collaboratively in a fast-paced, remote-first environment
  • Strong tech literacy and comfortable working from a laptop 5 days per week (Monday to Friday), 40 hours per week

Nice to have:

  • Background in nutrition, dietetics, or health coaching (HCPC or AfN registration welcome but not required)
  • Experience in a startup, healthcare, or digital health setting
  • Familiarity with behaviour-change frameworks (CBT, NLP, or motivational interviewing)
Working at Second Nature

We embrace a hybrid model that balances flexibility with connection:

  • London-based: 1–2 days per week in the office
  • Remote (UK-based): Once per month in the office

This approach allows for meaningful collaboration and space to do focused work.

Why you’ll love working here:
  • You’ll lead and develop a high-performing coaching team to deliver world-class health coaching at scale
  • You’ll have the autonomy to drive continuous improvement and make tangible impact on team performance and member outcomes
  • You’ll work alongside a passionate, mission-driven team who genuinely care about helping people live healthier lives
  • Flexible working hours and autonomy over your workload to support your own wellbeing
  • Private medical insurance, provided after your first year with the company
  • CPD budget of £200/year and protected CPD time
  • Quarterly company meet ups/socials in London
  • Salary sacrifice and cycle to work schemes
