A local government council in Scotland is seeking an experienced Social Work Practitioner to lead and develop the Children Affected By Disability Team. The role involves managing assessments for children with disabilities and creating plans to address their needs. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and enthusiastic Social Work Practitioner to manage and further develop the Children Affected By Disability Team in Fife. We are committed to prioritising and achieving best outcomes for children affected by disability. In Fife we put children at the centre of everything we do and we invite applications from candidates who will share our enthusiasm.
The primary tasks of the team are to undertake assessments of need for children affected by disability and work with their carers to create plans which will scaffold identified needs. The team works closely with a range of partners including Health, Education and the third sector.

Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
As this role requires SSSC registration, you will have three months to apply for registration.
If appointed, you must start your application as soon as possible so you're registered within the required six months.
If you need to achieve a qualification to maintain your SSSC membership, information will be provided if you are appointed. You must ensure you complete the qualification within the specified timeframe.

As a progressive employer, we offer the opportunity to work in this role as a "blended working" arrangement with home-working opportunities and occasional office-working as required. While the significant part of the role can and will be carried out remotely, candidates should be able to travel to and attend office locations in Fife as required.
