We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Team Leader Works to join the Shire of Capel’s Engineering & Works team within our Infrastructure & Development Directorate. If you take pride in getting the job done right, enjoy mentoring others and don’t mind rolling up your sleeves, this could be the role for you. Working closely with the Leading Hand Works and Coordinator Works and a great on-the-ground team, you’ll help deliver construction and maintenance projects that make a real impact on our roads, parks and public spaces.
The Shire of Capel is located in the South West, halfway between Bunbury and Busselton. We are nestled between the beach and the forest and are one of the fastest growing coastal Shires in Australia. As the Team Leader Works, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day delivery of construction and maintenance programs across the Shire. You’ll oversee and participate in civil works, including roads, drainage, paths, parks and other infrastructure, ensuring tasks are completed safely, efficiently and to the required standard.
Your responsibilities will include providing on-site direction and training to team members, operating and maintaining machinery and plant, ensuring quality and safety standards are met and assisting with planning and reporting. You’ll also liaise with contractors and community members, contribute to job safety analysis and support continuous improvement across the Works team.
