Cathedral Appointments is proud to be working in partnership with Read Easy North, East & West Devon, part of the only national charity offering free, one-to-one reading coaching for adults who struggle with literacy.

About Read Easy
  • Founded in 2010 in Dorset, formally established nationally in 2011 as Read Easy UK
  • North, East & West Devon network formed in April 2024, with hubs in Okehampton, Barnstaple, Axminster, Exmouth, and Exeter
  • Supported entirely by volunteers, delivering confidential, one-to-one reading coaching

We are helping Read Easy build a pool of passionate volunteers across Devon, with a particular focus on recruiting a new Team Leader.

About the Team Leader Role

As Team Leader, you will coordinate volunteers, drive local initiatives, and ensure the group delivers effective reading support.

Responsibilities
  • Support and guide Reading Coaches and Coordinators
  • Lead communication and volunteer engagement
  • Oversee local partnerships and community outreach
  • Use organisational and IT skills to keep the team connected
Ideal for someone with
  • Experience managing or supporting volunteers
  • Interest in adult literacy or community education
  • Confidence with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and email
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills
Time commitment

5–7 hours per week, minimum 2-year commitment
