Opportunity

An opportunity is available for a Team Leader based at Gloucester who will report to the Field Operations Team Manager and will be responsible for leading a group of Trades Persons. This role will be on a temporary basis for a period of up to 8 months – subject to review. The key focus of this role is to lead an efficient and productive team across a region. Key considerations for the successful running of your team include ensuring they are working compliantly within H&S policies, coordinating programmes of work for them to undertake, maximising efficiencies in delivery, ensuring your team has the appropriate development and authorisations and effectively managing performance on a 1:1 basis. This is a crucial role to help drive forward performance and give our large teams the support they need in the field. The new Team Leader role will be one of ways to help.

  • Ensuring our people have the appropriate training and work authorisations to support a safe and productive working environment

Qualifications and Experience
  • You must have a proven track record of managing teams including managing and driving performance, as well as experience of being the point of escalation for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • You need a good understanding or the ability to quickly develop knowledge of the following:
    • Electricity Safety
    • Health & Safety Legislation
    • Quality & Continuity Regulations 2002
    • Electricity at Work Regulations 1989
    • The NGED distribution business
    • NGED Craft roles and activities undertaken
  • Some Commercial and Financial awareness would be an advantage.
  • A NRSWA qualification or understanding of NRSWA legislation is desirable; full training can be provided.
  • You must hold a full, valid UK/EU driving licence as you will be required to carry out site visits.
  • Operationally you must live within approximately 60 minutes of the Gloucester depot.
  • This role is subject to a satisfactory Barring Service (DBS) check. Depending on the role, different levels of screening and vetting are required; some roles require a triannual check.
