Qualifications

Team Leader

Location: Skelmersdale
Hours: Full-Time
Salary: up to £16.38 per hour

About the Role

You will be a key part of our frontline support team, delivering high-quality care while taking responsibility for the smooth day-to-day running of the team. You’ll work closely with the Team Manager to provide effective leadership and hands‑on support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Daily Living Support: Support with daily activities, outings, and planning meals and preparing food.
  • Community Adventures: Accompany this young man on outings – including visiting steam railways, cinema trips and walks.
  • Skill Building & Independence: Work alongside him to develop life skills that boost his confidence and self‑sufficiency.
  • Be a Friendly Confidant: Build a genuine connection with this young man, providing companionship, encouragement, and a positivity every day.
  • Health & Well‑being Monitoring: Look out for his safety, well‑being, and overall happiness, always keeping communication open with his family and care team.
Essential
  • NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Health & Social Care
  • Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities, autism, complex care needs or mental health needs
  • Confidence in handling behaviours that challenge and applying consistent, person‑centred support strategies
  • Experience maintaining and managing accurate care records, risk assessments, and support plans
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks
  • Flexibility to work across a 4‑week rolling rota, including weekends and public holidays
  • Strong values that align with My Life’s mission of inclusion, dignity, and empowerment
  • A full Driver’s Licence is required
Desirable
  • NVQ Level 3 or working towards
  • Previous experience in a team leader or senior support worker role
  • Knowledge of CQC standards and safeguarding procedures
