A leading innovation centre in the UK is seeking a Team Leader to oversee a high-performing software team. You'll manage software applications in HealthTech, mentor staff, and contribute to continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will hold an HNC or equivalent and have substantial experience in software development, particularly in medical devices. CPI has an exciting opportunity for a team leader to join its established and growing software team, to supervise and coordinate a high‑performing technical group, providing expertise and leading on medium and large scale projects in HealthTech fields such as IVD, medical devices, wearables, sensor technologies, connectivity and drug delivery devices. A proven track record of managing and leading software engineering teams within a regulated environment (particularly in the medical devices area would be advantageous). The Team Leader will draw on a broad range of technical know‑how to provide carefully thought out advice/expertise to a range of stakeholders, offering innovative solutions and contributing extensively to development and improvement activities. The successful candidate will be educated to a minimum of HNC or Foundation Degree level (or equivalent) in a Scientific/Engineering discipline and have significant industrial experience at a senior level. They must be able to demonstrate significant, technical expertise in software development and display evidence of complex technical problem solving.
Experience of supervising a small group or team within a operational environment and holding a supervisory or management qualification would be advantageous.
Experience in design and development of software medical devices, knowledge of systems engineering V‑Model processes, and skills in systems engineering/systems integration in a commercial product development environment is also desirable.
