Team Leader Radiotherapy Radiographer B7

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Leader Radiotherapy Radiographer to join our Pre Treatment team. The Trust is delighted to invite applications from enthusiastic, forward‑thinking radiographers with a keen interest in delivering radiotherapy services and a passion for team working and service development. Main duties of the job

The purpose of this role is to undertake radiotherapy interventions at a team‑leader level to the highest professional and technical standards, working with Medical, Radiographic, Physics and Administrative colleagues within the Radiotherapy team.

Job responsibilities
  • Pre‑treatment planning and assessment of patients in collaboration with the Radiotherapy team.
  • Preparation and delivery of radiotherapy treatments using highly specialised equipment (Hybrid EMAS, Halcyon, TrueBeam, ETHOS).
  • Management of the pre‑treatment workflow, ensuring accurate and safe delivery of radiation therapy.
  • Providing information, education, practical and emotional support to patients and carers throughout their radiotherapy episode.
  • Participation in clinical governance activities and project management for service improvement.
  • Supervision of junior staff and ensuring adherence to best practice protocols.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • MSc / BSc Radiotherapy / Therapeutic Radiography or DCR (T)
  • HCPC Registration
  • Evidence of continuous personal, professional and academic development
Knowledge
  • Experience as a Band 6 Therapy Radiographer commensurate with progression to a Band 7 post
  • Experience of working in a radiotherapy department on a wide range of radiotherapy pre‑treatment equipment and specialised techniques
  • Experience of collaborating with other staff groups outside Radiotherapy
  • Use of computerised department record and verify systems
  • Participation in clinical governance activities
  • Project management related to service improvement
