Overview

Team Leader of Computer Science Salary: £32,916 to £51,047, Plus TLR 2.2 £5,870. Range: Main Pay Range or Upper Pay Range, Plus TLR 2.2. Start Date: ASAP or 1st September 2026. Contract Type: Full Time. Contract Term: Permanent. Suitable for ECT: No. Closing Date: 08:00am Monday 9th February 2026. Interview Date: Wednesday 11th February 2026. Wilmslow High School. School age range: 11-18. Number on roll: approx. 2,000 (including 500 sixth form).

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and energetic Team Leader of Computer Science. Computer Science forms part of our thriving and highly regarded Design & Technology department. Applications are encouraged from experienced teachers who are committed to teaching at the highest standard and raising the aspirations and achievements of our students. This role will require you to provide leadership of the Computer Science team, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and achievement across all key stages.

The team currently consists of the Team Leader of Computer Science and two specialist teachers, with potential for this team to grow in future years. Computer Science is a growing area within the school curriculum across Years 7 to 13 and it is our ambition to inspire and empower the computer scientists of the future. Our Design & Technology and Computer Science team is at an exciting moment in its development, and one in which the ideas, energy and drive of the potential candidate will be welcomed, encouraged and valued. The team offers qualifications in Computer Science across Key Stage 4 and 5.

  • An interest in innovative and creative curriculum design and the desire to develop this further
  • Have the resolve and tenacity to make a real difference to the performance of students
  • A commitment to the opportunities Computer Science can provide and be keen to explore these both within and beyond the classroom
  • A commitment to the importance of digital fluency in modern communications
  • A willingness to embrace new technology and techniques for promoting Computer Science, such as immersing students in the language of coding and robotics
