The young people here are strong, determined, and each live with autism and complex processing needs. Their behaviours can include aggression such as hitting, spitting, hair pulling, or ripping clothes. Some express themselves through very challenging language - from racial abuse to graphic conversations - and others are drawn into online obsessions. Your role as Day Team Leader is to bring structure and direction, guiding your team through these unpredictable days so that the children feel safe, supported, and secure in routine.

What You'll Do:

  • Support young people with autism, epilepsy, diabetes, and mental health needs.
  • Step into challenging behaviours calmly and model safe practice for colleagues.
  • Provide personal care sensitively and professionally.
  • Mentor and supervise Day Coaches and Senior Coaches.
  • Manage records, handovers, and communication with managers.
What We're Looking For:

This role needs someone with both experience and authority, able to stay calm under pressure:

  • Strong background working with autism and behaviours that challenge.
  • Skilled in behaviour support, Team Teach, and de-escalation.
  • Resilient when faced with aggression, offensive language, or disturbing conversations.
  • Physically fit, reliable, and proactive.
  • A natural leader with excellent communication skills.
  • To transport the young people in and out of the community this role requires adults with a Full UK Driving License.
