Team Leader - Food to Go - Full Time (Maternity)

Compensation: £12.65 / hour

Description

As a Team Leader in the Food to Go department at Planet Organic, you will play a crucial role in delivering our mission to promote health and sustainability to our community. You will lead your team in ensuring that every customer experience is fun, educational, and rewarding. Your primary responsibilities will include supervising daily operations, guiding team members, and ensuring the highest standards of customer service and product quality. You will collaborate with your team to enhance the customer experience while maintaining a vibrant and efficient working environment. Please note, this is a fixed-term role to cover maternity leave. It will run until the original postholder returns or the arrangement is reviewed based on the needs of the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead your team to create a fun, educational, and rewarding customer experience.
  • Train new starters and oversee their progression to ensure they meet our standards of excellence.
  • Place orders and manage stock levels to ensure product availability and minimise waste.
  • Analyse sales and wastage, providing reports to senior management as requested to inform strategic decisions.
  • Oversee the Food to Go service, ensuring the timely preparation and presentation of products that meet our quality standards.
  • Monitor and maintain high standards of food hygiene and health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe and clean environment for both customers and staff.
  • Collaborate with management to achieve daily operational goals, optimise workflows, and address any challenges that arise.
  • Work as part of a team to complete daily tasks, which may involve working in areas outside of your normal duties.
  • Providing support for store operations by assisting with store opening and closing procedures, and other managerial duties as needed.

  • Comprehensive understanding of food hygiene and health and safety practices in a retail and hospitality environment.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience in retail and food & drink servery is preferred.
  • Our stores operate during evenings, weekends, and public holidays, so we're looking for team members who are flexible with their availability and can adapt to different shift patterns as needed.
